A mom, a water blaster and her whole childhood against the screen that never stops: a tough, funny top-down roguelite through a 1996 schoolyard, a 1999 bedroom and a 2003 living room.
Description
It's 10 pm. Leo, 8, has been swallowed by his tablet: the Scroll, an endless video feed, took him. His mom, Nath, climbs to the attic, finds her childhood trunk and her old plushie Pompom, and goes through her own childhood to bring him back.
Rembobine is an action roguelite in the vein of Hades and The Binding of Isaac. Each run is one night across three randomly generated floors. The bosses are memories that fight by the rules of the games they come from: the Recess Queen plays Red Light, Green Light, hopscotch and tag; Tamagoyle, the virtual pet you let die, throws tantrums you have to satisfy; the 33-10 Snake slithers like the game on your first mobile phone and sends MSN-style buzzes.
The game is made for parents who were kids between 1990 and 2005. It's hard on purpose, fair (every attack is telegraphed), and has a Cuddle Mode for players who want a gentler night.
